K-129 heads out on patrol.

K-129, Avachinskaya Bay on the southeastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula.

K-129 had been converted from a Golf I to a Golf II submarine. A major part of the modification was a retrofit enabling the submarine to launch the new longer range SS-N-5 ballistic missile.
